Joint Heat is a multiple-use, one-size-fits-all heating unit that fits all 5 major body joints. It can be used for moist or dry heat and secures cold packs to aching joints. 

Since it is a form of energy, the application of heat to a joint increases metabolic activity in the cells at that specific site. The increased cellular activity causes an increase in oxygen demand at the joint area, resulting in capillary dilation which increases the amount of blood that brings oxygen and nutrients to the area.

There is also substantial increase in oxygen consumption and waste removal because of the associated membrane diffusion and enzymatic activity. Waste products of an injury are involved with pain and nerve fiber sensitization: Histamine, prostaglandin and bradykinin.
